Back in the spring I came across this blog post by Jackie Wonders. I loved her use of the car-wash, and wanted to expand on that idea. So the idea of this shoot was born. I’d come up with the perfect “all American” couple in my mind… the perfect car, the perfect wardrobe…. I found the perfect couple and wardrobe, however I was hoping for a car like an el Camino, or K5 Blazer…. but I digress. Jeremy’s old Suburban worked fine, and gave us other photo ops the other 2 cars wouldn’t have…. and the dark green color was perfect. I want to pause a moment to say this is the kind of shoot I LOVE. The kind of shoot I live for. When we have so much creative freedom, and the people we’re shooting trust us 100%, good things happen. Thank you guys so much for being great sports!!

Can you believe we’re past mid September?!? It’s time to get a head start on that Holiday to-do list…. which involves your Holiday cards, right? Last year we offered a special for mini sessions and want to do it again this year. Here’s what it will involve: *A 20 minute session on Sunday, November 27th in north Charlotte. Session times will be every half hour, and will have an outdoor living room feel 🙂 *25 handmade Holiday Cards from Golden Invites, each with a professionally printed wallet photo attached to the card. White envelopes included. *One digital image from your session. You have your choice between 2 card options, standard & upgraded. The standard card will include a paper color of your choice, and design of your choice. The upgraded option will include white or champagne paper, custom text (including your names!) and a color backing of your choice. Please click on the thumbnails below to view all the choices. You can mix and match the designs with different color paper. How Much? Standard: $150 Upgraded: $160 When booking the session a $75 retainer is required for your time slot. When this is paid you’ll also need to know which card options you’d like, as it is time consuming for Golden Invites to make all the orders. Need more than 25 cards? No problem! Just ask about pricing for sets of 10 or 25 cards. Email me today to reserve your spot!

I’ve never really encountered this illness much less by someone I knew, or someone my own age. Susie sat in the chair having her hair & makeup done on her wedding day, she looked at me and said “I don’t think I’ve told you, I have breast cancer” Earlier in the summer she’d found out & had a double mastectomy & then reconstructive surgery. She proceeded to make a joke about wanting a shirt she’d seen that said “Yes, they’re fake. My real ones tried to kill me” That’s exactly the spirit Susie has kept with her breast cancer battle. She delayed her chemo treatments until after the wedding, so that she’d still have her hair at the wedding, and not be so sick. The Tuesday following their wedding she started the treatments. She’s since shaved her head. While away in Savannah last weekend to attend a wedding, I got an email on my phone from Trinette, a mutual friend of mine & Susies…. and the reason Susie & I met. She explained she had joined a Susan G. Komen team for Susie & they were raising money. I happily donated. I’d love if my readers would consider donating to this cause. Click here for info on how to contribute. Please remember every little bit helps. **Posted with Susie’s permission.
