Maternity | Allison & Robert

Several weeks ago I traveled to Raleigh for Allison & Robert’s maternity session at Yates Mill. We managed to dodge the hoards of other families there for their annual photo-shoot and capture some special moments for them waiting for the arrival of their daughter next month, Georgia Claire! Family | Minzey

The Minzey family recently relocated to Davidson (to my neighborhood!) from Arizona and wanted to capture their sweet girl, Addison for her first birthday. To beat the heat, we met at sunrise for their session. Don’t you just love their bold clothing!? Colors photograph so well… no white and khakis here!

Portrait | Spring Mini Sessions!

I’ve never done spring mini’s only fall… but I’ve had a few requests, so I thought I would try it out this year. Mini sessions are likely going to be at Beaver Dam in Davidson, which gets great light and has a nice variety of backdrops (a historic home, a barn, big trees). This session can be used for families, bridals, couples, etc. up to 5 people. Sessions will be 5:45PM, 6:15PM, 6:45PM & 7:15PM Only 4 spots available, book here!

Maternity | Karen

Sometimes  your best friend up and moves 1200 miles away from you, all her other friends and all her family with her fiance ….. and then has to plan a North Carolina wedding from Texas…. and then finds out she’s pregnant a year and a half later. You’ll fly to see her several times, learn about her new (hot) life…. (damn, Gina… we thought Wilmington was hot!). You’ll learn about the abundance of avocados, Tex-mex, lack of grocery options, and unnecessarily difficult Texas roads in her new life. You’ll be thankful she has a support group of women there. You’ll learn how strong she is, how brave she is, and how well she can adapt. You’ll have to convince her that she is ready to be a mom…. and all the baby crap she’s stressing over just doesn’t matter. Clothes? Check. Diapers? Check. You got this. I love you, Karen, and I hate I can’t be there for this moment…. but you and Paul will be great… and Terra will give more kisses than you thought possible. Don’t worry, I’ll be back with plenty of monogrammed goodies once we know if Baby Brown is a boy or girl.I’ve jokingly referred to Baby Brown as “the cactus” since it’s a Texan…. so I threw her a little cactus themed shower while there, and the balloon from it seemed like a good prop!
