Sunday is a special day for our good friends, Matt & Aeriel. Their adorable daughter will have her first birthday!!! We were so excited to get together with them & photograph their little girl for her first birthday.She’s such a sweet little girl, full of personality & funny faces 🙂 Aeriel brought along some of her props for Annalina’s party…. she went all out on the pink & yellow theme 🙂 We can’t wait to celebrate at Annalina’s party tomorrow & photograph it! I can’t believe this little peanut is a year old now!!! Seems like she was born just yesterday! If you follow me on twitter, you know I’ve had a predicament with our new sofa in the office. Keep the pink? Ditch the pink? Well… we’re ditching the pink. ***runs & hides**** Don’t get me wrong, that sofa is darn cute, and I know I am ruining some little girls dream to have it in her room…. but this little girl, can’t deal with it. It just isn’t working for me, the pink isn’t really the right shade, it’s kinda dirty, the pattern is too busy, and the upholstery job is heinous. However, I am grateful that this introduction of pink, in an otherwise all orange/gray/white scene has forced me to rethink my branding & make a colorful addition to my company. After I began adding touches of pink here and there, I realized it only made sense. You see, I am a longtime lover of all things Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade. Both of which scream southern, girly girl…. and what good southern girl doesn’t love pink? 🙂 Anyway…. my point of all this is… we’re reupholstering the sofa…. BUT before we do, we wanted to make use of all it’s pink glory…. and Kendal’s first birthday seemed like the perfect occasion 🙂

Sawyer…. What can I even say about this adorable kid, with KILLER hair!?!?! He was a little shy at first, but then warmed right up, and shared his trains, books and toys with us. The Kidd family have an awesome home with tons of beautiful natural light…. when you photograph in people’s homes you never quite know what you are in for…. dark rooms, unattractive furnishings…. NOT the case here! Everything was beautiful! And this is one lucky kid to have his bedroom custom painted, and his very own playroom right next door, complete with 2 train sets! OK…. on to the good stuff! One of my favorites! The next three images I think would make 3 amazing canvases to hang in a boys room or playroom…. I love the details & colors!! Thank you SO much, Kidd family for having us into your lovely home! Sawyer is just about as adorable as they come!!
