2010 in Review.

This year has been such a whirlwind for us. I am so thankful that I’ve stuck with this photo gig, and really made it a priority. I honestly don’t think I could have worked any harder growing this business this year. I’m really proud of myself. I look back at images shot January, February….. pretty much through September, and cringe. I guess, something clicked in October for me, and I feel like the images that I’ve shot since then have been light years ahead of the rest. When I first got started I really struggled with editing and finding a style, and kept hearing, “oh you’ll find it, it just takes time”. So. True. It takes time to develop a photography style, look, brand, ect. I feel like I’m getting closer to where I want to be. We’ve watched Emma Rae grow from a newborn to a toddler. Family | The Thompson Family

On a chilly Sunday afternoon we met up with the Thompson family on Fayetteville Street, in downtown Raleigh to get some great shots for their Christmas cards. These guys were such great sports hiking all over Fayetteville Street, Union Square, Moores Square & City Market. Here’s the peek I posted a few days ago- it’s on of my favorites 🙂 I love this equally in color & black & white. Handsome older brother, Cooper. The boys lucked out and got to go for a little ride in one of the pedal carts. We found the boys ages in one of the parking lots we passed. Thank you Thompson family for braving the cold, and choosing us to photograph your holiday pictures!

Family Photographer | Wrightsville Beach

A couple of weeks ago Jeremy and I had made plans to go down to Carolina Beach to do a little work on our beach lot. A former co-worker of mine in Wilmington had seen our Christmas deal on Facebook and wished we were down there so she could take advantage of it….. we’ll we were heading down there, so we got to meet up with them! October 30th seemed to be prime time for having photos taken on the south end of Wrightsville beach…. I bet we saw 4 other photographers out there! Our Christmas deal includes 25 Christmas cards- here’s the one they picked 🙂 Love the sun peaking over the dunes! Their cards came in this week while I was away…. can’t wait to mail them off! We’re still offering our Christmas deal….. a 30 minute session & 25 photo Christmas cards (multiple designs available) for $100….. email us at info@jjhortonphotography.com to book a spot!
