Charity With A View

You may or may not know I am a Junior League of Charlotte member. I’ve been involved with this organization for the last 3 years and it’s been so rewarding to use my time for the greater good of the town I call home. This year (which I cannot believe is nearly over!) I’ve served as a JLC Photographer. I get to go around town photographing different events for the newsletter, web, etc. Last Thursday I photographed an event that I signed up for months and months ago, the Sustainer Cocktail Party. OHEMGEE. The JLC is always known for having quality events, but this one took the cake for me. The fabulous Patty Norman and her husband Tommy were the gracious hosts at their amazing condo penthouse in Southpark. From the exterior the building is very unassuming, even slightly dated- but once inside it was a whole other story. When the elevator doors opened to a magnificent courtyard (yes, courtyard at the penthouse) I knew I was in for a treat! The view from just one part of their balcony….. such a fabulously different view of uptown. Interested in joining the JLC? Email me!

Wedding | St. Patrick’s Day

A few months ago we came up with the idea of a St. Patrick’s Day session and were lucky enough to have the session featured on Wedding Chicks.  Check out their post for a complete list of vendors. A big thank-you to all of them for contributing!!

Beach House | Choices

Some of the more fun items we get to take part in while this building process continues are all the selections. Don’t be fooled, this has also proved to be the most stressful. The choices seen below were some of the easiest, thankfully! We got a huge box of carpet samples last week, and within about 30 seconds had our choice. I’ve never been so thankful for non-builder grade carpet to be in our budget! We also made our siding selections! Thankfully, it was another easy choice! ….. and it was NOT a “coastal color” Our house will be “Evening Blue” the closest color to navy I could get 🙂 There were so many options for carpet…. some less than desirable colors…. We wanted something very low pile, so we were able to knock out many choices fast. We liked these the best. Surprise, surprise…. the one we liked best? Sandy Beach.
