Personal | Mountains

In early fall I photographed two weddings in Cashiers at Lonesome Valley and knew I wanted to go back and spend more time there. When I was a kid, my dad had a goal of seeing every county in North Carolina…. so driving aimlessly and calling it “family vacation” was nothing new. One part of NC I’d yet to see was Jackson and Franklin Counties (or if I have, I don’t remember)…. so after photographing those two weddings a weekend trip was in order. For Jeremy’s birthday I booked a room at 200 Main, an Old Edwards Inn property in downtown Highlands. Aside from the obnoxious rain we dealt with all day, Saturday… we had a wonderful time exploring beautiful Highway 64 and many stops along the way. I hope to get back up there for more weddings in the future!  We had already made one stop at Bridal Veil Falls, but on our way back a whole crew of Mini’s were parked there, so we stopped and joined their photo!During our trip, we stopped at Satulah Mountain Brewing Company to avoid the rain and watch some football. How adorable is the Summer Chapel?! I peaked inside to see it’s beautiful, simple design. I’d love to photograph a couple here! The following weekend we made a quick visit to Grandfather Mountain. Another spot I’d never been to! I could not believe how cold and windy it was compared to the weather we left in Charlotte. It was mid 60’s at home… and low 30’s on top of Grandfather mountain! On the way up we stopped for coffee and to watch the Carolina Balloon Festival’s sunrise launch.

Wedding | Amber & Jensen

I always love getting to photograph pretty people in Charleston, SC! Amber & Jensen’s ceremony at the Confederate Home and reception at McCrady’s was no exception. While Jen was busy with the gals, I was over at the Mills House with the boys. Big thanks to Jen Smith for having me along to 2nd shoot with her!

Reminder…. and HELLO!

Well… it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I pretty much took July off from shooting, and it was refreshing! I spent lots of time with the family, and we moved in our new home! So most of my free time has been used to think and source stuff for the new house. We are doing some renovations which includes a master bed & bathroom addition (!!!!) Bathroom choices seemed so simple when we were building the beach house, but all the sudden they seem daunting now…. and it doesn’t help that I’ve developed very expensive taste…. marble everything, anyone?! So now that you’ve had a mini update… I wanted to remind you that YES! I do travel for weddings! It seems that at least once a week someone asks me if I stick to Charlotte, or if I venture out… the answer is always venture out! I like traveling and love it even more when I get to photograph people in pretty places.  We LOVED visiting Jamaica in January for Alan & Ashley’s destination wedding (see more here!) I’m also still looking to travel back to the Dallas/Waco/Austin Texas areas to shoot too! There are still no travel fees for those towns since there’s a new munchkin are there that I need to spoil! PS: I’ve had oodles of wedding inquires lately for late 2015 and 2016…. so, go ahead and get on my calender now!

Updated House Photos!

Over the weekend we got our house in tip-top shape and I photographed it Saturday morning. Our listing should go in MLS this week, but we are very willing to show our home to anyone interested in the evenings until the realtor takes over (6-730PM). See all the specs here! My Craigslist Posting Open living room (note the in-wall surround sound speakers!) BOTH flat screen tv’s stay with the house (one here, and one in the master bedroom!!)       Dining space (our table seats 6, but with the leaf in, the space can easily accommodate 8 or 10!) Chair rail & crown molding installed all through downstairs.Upgraded kitchen, with a new Pfister faucet, gray/white/black granite counters and pale gray subway tile backsplash (all brand new!) Stainless fridge stays with the house!Convenient 1/2 bath in the living area (laundry & storage closet are also in this space) Master bedroom, we have a queen bed. Master bath & closet are located across from the bed (you can see the bed reflection in the mirror) Guest room, we have two twin beds (stacked) in here for our guests, but have had a double bed here in the past… room could easily hold a queen too. Middle bedroom, we use as our office. The cedar chest holds all our paperwork files and the closet holds all my craft/gift supplies. The hall bath is bright and airy with neutral paint. Front porch, great for hanging out with wonderful neighbors! Our street occasionally does pot luck dinners, or orders takeout to eat together 🙂Our back yard is fenced and our patio is wonderful! A nice outdoor closet stores all the yard tools. I’d love it if you shared our house with your friends!! We are very motivated 🙂
