Elope | Zara

The thought of eloping or just having a small, intimate wedding just really appeals to me. We had a decent size wedding, but I strongly considered having a tiny ceremony at my dads farm. There are so many spots in NC that I would absolutely love to photography an intimate ceremony (a mountain top- maybe Hanging Rock State Park, the OBX, ect.). While I think a grand gown can be perfectly stunning for any size wedding, I also love the thought of something incredibly simple. I love to peruse the Zara website, and this morning I spotted 3 simple (re-wear-able!) options for a small ceremony or even a courthouse wedding. Yes, I believe even if you tie the knot at the justice of the peace you should wear something beautiful and there should be great photographs. I do offer hourly coverage for small events like this 🙂   LEFT / MIDDLE / RIGHT   ALL these are on sale for $35.99!!! Maybe splurge on a beautiful statement necklace, designer heels & organic bouquet

Wedding | Millstone 4-H Center

On Monday I traveled out to Millstone 4-H Center for a donation drop-off for my day job. I’ve been to many of the 4-H centers in NC, but never Millstone. It was a sweet, quaint facility with loads of charm. I’d love to have a bride & groom tie the knot out there! They have a small lake with a floating dock that spans the width of the water and a suspension bridge! Hello, beautiful photos! *This would also be great for bridals or engagements*

Wedding | Packaging

Photographers seem to have a constant struggle with if/how to package their final product to the client. I don’t know why this gets so daunting, but it does. Some photographers use the power of technology to eliminate this frustration, by simply offering the images via download, without sending anything snail-mail. I can’t say I hate this, I actually often do it for portrait clients who have purchased the digital images…. however, when it comes to wedding clients I don’t feel the same. You just dropped a fairly large check to me, the least I can do is send you something as a culmination of our working relationship!?! In the past I’ve used kraft print boxes to package everything up nice and neat – simple & effective, easy to ship… but somewhat underwhelming in my opinion, and not exactly personalized. I was on a quest before my first wedding of 2014 to find something a little more my style. After ordering, delayed shipping, returning, re-ordering… I finally seem to land on something just about perfect. None of the items I use are mineminemine…. so I thought I’d share, spread the wealth, and hopefully inspire you to think outside the “traditional photography packaging box”. I understand that quality photography is a privilege, and I want to quantify those expectations with the delivery of the final product. cCb is Carrie & Brendan’s married monogram 🙂 Case: Baggu iPad case  Monogramming by  Poppies  Wood Monogram: Southern Nest   CD: Disc Makers   Business Card: Cotton Paperie  *CD & Cards I already had

Wedding | Carrie & Brendan Part II

Carrie and Brendan are high school sweethearts from Charlotte and were married at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, SC. (<- see part 1 there!!) I’d never been to this part of the SC coast…. and I instantly fell in love. It’s quaint, quiet, beautiful and a stones throw from Myrtle Beach. The stunning Pawley’s Island is where they held their reception… a place I’d also never been. I sincerely hope I get to go back and shoot more in this area… it’s what lowcountry, slow, southern living is made of! Ceremony: Belin Memorial United Methodist Church Reception: Pawley’s Island Plantation Cake: Pawleys Island Bakery Dress: Jenny Yoo from J Majors Bridesmaids: Alfred Sung from J Majors Groom & Groomsmen: Joseph Slim from Jos.
