Wedding | Amanda & Chad

My last wedding of 2016 happened a month ago today, and it was a special one! Amanda and Chad wanted to forgo the hoopla that typically surrounds a wedding day, and just have it about the union between them… which meant 90% of the guests, thought they were attending a Christmas party instead of a wedding when they arrived. Amanda was there to greet guests in a killer, blue sequin dress while everyone sipped hot chocolate and had snacks. Carolers were on the patio producing beautiful Christmas carols, when Amanda and Chad interrupted them with a poem of their own… revealing their was going to be a wedding! They exited the patio and returned in full wedding garb to tie the knot about 15 minutes later! Because their wedding happened at sunset, we met up the week prior to complete their bride and groom portraits around the club. Everyone celebrated with dinner and dancing following the sweet ceremony. Congrats guys, it was truly special to be part of your day! Venue: Old North State Club Planning: Wrennwood Design             I loved that they wanted a large group shot following their ceremony!

Wedding | 2016 Review

2016 has been such an awesome wedding year for me… it’s been full of non-traditional and out of town nuptials, that we are blessed to witness and photograph. Here’s a quick highlight reel of some of the images captured for my clients this year…. I cannot wait to see what 2017 holds! I am already booking weddings for next year, and with engagement season upon us…. get on my calendar now 🙂

Wedding | Ali & John

The more small, and non-traditional weddings I’m photographing, the more and more I fall in love with them (Luma & Aaron had a great sunrise wedding, Melanie & Kyle had an awesome brunch wedding… and Chrissie & AJ re-planned their wedding in 3 days). Great outfits, beautiful flowers and love are pretty much all you need in my book. When I got Ali’s initial inquiry, I really thought she’d put 2016 instead of 2017…. nope, they wanted to get married the very next week… with 5 guests in the park, and it was magical. If you want to grab a dress of the rack, and throw traditional planning to the wind… call me. I’d love to photograph your big day! Wedding | Chrissie & AJ

Oh gosh. This wedding…. last October I got to photograph Chrissie & AJ’s engagement session around the beautiful trees in Myers Park.  They had a wedding planned for Kitty Hawk and I accepted the fact I wouldn’t be the one to photograph their wedding day. Fast forward to the first week of October, Hurricane Matthew was looming in the Caribbean, wreaking havoc on Haiti. The storm was slow moving, growing unpredictable, and headed straight for the North Carolina coast. Tuesday, I saw Chrissie put a call out on social media for some wedding vendors, she feared they would be moving their seaside wedding, inland to Charlotte. I saw the call, and let her know I was available since our beach trip for Jeremy’s birthday was cancelled. By Wednesday they had made the call to move the wedding, and I was offered the opportunity to capture their wedding day. Meanwhile, they were finding a new venue, flowers, catering, hair/makeup and driving car loads of details, beer and people across the state! Suddenly the 18 month engagement length they thought they needed went out the window, and everything was planned in about 72 hours. To Chrissie and AJ’s family and friends… you were rock stars for them. You set up tables, chairs, drove hours, rearranged your travel plans to make sure their day was as perfect as possible, they are one lucky couple to have you in their lives! To view their entire gallery, click here! All orders are 20% off through 10/31/16.       Their wedding was the first one to be held at The Foundry in Charlotte, a renovated building filled with offices directly behind BOA Stadium.
