Senior | Lindsay

Jeremy & I had the opportunity to photograph Lindsay in downtown Wilmington last weekend. She’s one of Karen’s employees and we loved getting to know her. You won’t find anyone more spunky, lively, bubbly, ect….. that also wants to work for the FBI! Here’s a sampling of our trek around downtown. Lindsay brought along some balloons, and I cannot think of a better prop for her! They totally match her personality! The last set we did in the new CFCC parking deck are some of my all time favorites! The sun was tucked behind a cloud, giving us the perfect warm light. My view on the left, Jeremy’s on the right Best wishes Lindsay at UNCW this fall!!

Office Updates.

Well, lots has changed since I last did an office update. I purchased a sofa, although not the West Elm one I’d been planning on for a while. I found one on craigslist I just couldn’t pass up. This single purchase spurred the office design into a completely different direction. As, it’s obvious gray & orange are my business colors. Well, this sofa…. it’s…. pink. I truly wanted my office to reflect my online presence. So… you’ll be seeing a few changes around here soon…. namely…. the addition of pink! I’ve done lots of digging around and decided adding pink was viable. I’ve been pinning things like crazy on my Pinterest “new office” board. I even made a special trip to Mary Jo’s last Friday to see if I could find some fabric to help marry the orange with the pink. I found a really pretty floral, and bought 2 yards. I plan on making a pillow or two 🙂 So here’s the progress…..(excuse the iPhone photos!) As you may notice, my new canvas has been hung over the mantle! I LOVE it!! I also got some large prints hung over the sofa! I decided to display my wedding dress (which was also my mom’s dress & my aunts dress) I got my sample album bags monogrammed & in the office! I am so in love with these. I had them custom made to fit my albums and then had them monogrammed. All our albums will come with a custom bag & they will  be monogrammed with your new monogram as a couple 🙂 So…. things still to be done…. 1. Find a rug. (Thinking I’ll try this! Gray & white stripes here i come…)2. Reupholster the gray chairs in a white cotton.3. Install curtains.4. Hang monogram logo over my desk.5. Find & hang a chandelier over the coffee table.6. Get my internet installed. It’s been ordered, Windstream is just dragging their feet on the install.7. Move all equipment & safe over from home. On my quest to incorporate pink into the business, I purchased Jeremy & I new wedding duds to shoot in! Last year we bought Jeremy a special gray suit from J. Crew to wear for weddings. So this year it was my turn… I bought a new Lilly Pulitzer dress, and Jeremy a new tie. We won’t be frumpy photographers at your wedding, we’ll look like stylish guests! I can’t wait to test out the new duds at our next wedding on Oak Island 🙂

Bridal | Jessica

Back in February while Jeremy and I were out in Vegas, we met up with some local friends and talked about doing a shoot out in the desert while we were there. Needless to say the whirlwind that is Vegas/WPPI didn’t allow time for it. So, we decided we’d get together when we got back to NC. So, over Memorial Day weekend we, along with a few others got together to hang out, shoot, and talk shop. It was so great. I truly enjoy the company of this group of ladies. We openly share about our businesses, our goals, and our struggles…. and our coupon-ing 🙂 Many photographers in our area use this “urban barn” for shoots…. none of us had ever been out there, so we decided it would be a great experience to shoot somewhere new to all of us. It was great to see how we all worked together, but at the same time, used different angles to create different looks. We all took turns giving our bride, Jessica direction… and coming up with ideas on what we could have her do and where to have her stand. I love these photos so much, that one of them now hangs (HUGE) in my new office 🙂 Dress: Enzoani Couture, ChristinaShoes: Steve MaddenHair Flower: TargetNecklace: Etsy 50mm 1.4 vs 20mm 2.8 The photo on the left is the one hanging in my office 🙂 The lovely Carrie, at Flower Diva in Pineville, NC provided our orange bouquet 🙂 Other photographers images from this shoot: Tish MackayKelli BolingAshley GillettLindsay Hess A little behind-the-scenes action….

Engagement | Catey & Michael

Catey & I met a while back about her October wedding…. she’s my kinda girl…. she was planning for pumpkins, and outdoors, and she’s an NCSU fan 🙂 Her and Michael booked an engagement session with a very clear vision…. the backyard of Michael’s family lake house. I love it when couples use a space special to them for their photos. I think it makes them so much more meaningful! We started out on the docks. Don’t you just LOVE her hair & makeup!??! The fabulous handiwork of Lindsay Regan Thorne of Be Pretty. Jeremy about gave me a heart attack when I turned to see him hanging over the dock with our 70-200 lens danging inches above the water…. so worth it though, babe! Good job 🙂 I’ll pay you in extra smooches. Don’t you adore her dress! It’s from Bevello.Cute sweater is Anthropologie (last year) The photo on the right is one of my favorite photos taken to date! Catey emailed me a few days before the shoot mentioning an old campground she thought would be cool to shoot at…. I rode out to see it and man, she was so right! Very cool, indeed….. although, we decided it was creepy 🙂 Her top is Michael Kors & shoes are Target. We walked out to the adjacent trees…. and the light was just divine!! Thank you so much C & M for sweating out with us on a hot day! We cannot wait for your October wedding!!!!
