Couple | Monica & Robert

On Good Friday I got a phone call, I was out enjoying the day off, so I let it go to voicemail. Robert had called to inquire about a photo session with his lady, Monica. I never, ever get phone calls from guys wanting to schedule a session. How sweet is he!?!? We got everything scheduled, and I was excited. They wanted to shoot in downtown Davidson, our town!  We met them in front of Soda Shop, and I’d forgot that it was “Art on the Green” weekend….. normally Davidson is a ghost town on Sunday’s….. not this one! Multiple bands were playing on the lawn & people were everywhere. I think we did a pretty good job of avoiding the crowds 🙂 Robert & Monica came prepared…. with 4 outfits! Apparently, they’d spent all week deciding what to wear. I bet the people in Soda Shop thought they were a little crazy when they kept coming inside & changing clothes 🙂 They picked wonderful looks, that complemented each other so well! I’m in love with these teal doors I stumbled upon a while back! Thank you R&M for being SO awesome, and hiking all over Davidson with us. I hope you love these as much as we do!

Styled Shoot | Rustic Yellow & Gray

For MONTHS now we’ve been planning this shoot. Something always pushed us back….. this time tornados threatened… but we rolled with it. This shoot was supposed to be at sunrise in a completely different location…. but we thought with the rain, this barn would be a dryer option. Thankfully, the rain cleared out earlier than expected and we had a dry, sunny afternoon. However, it was WINDY! I didn’t get as many table shots as I’d hoped for simply because the wind was knocking everything over. Everyone helping was holding something still until the wind settled long enough for me to snap a shot or two… then they’d run back to the table to keep all the glass from being distroyed! A special thank you to the following vendors for assisting us! Hayden Olivia Bridal for the Carol Hannah Water Street Dress & sash Harrisburg Florist for the BEAUTIFUL quicksand roses and yellow billy balls Sunflour Bakery for the amazing cakes. Julia with Stella & Dot for the stunning jewelry Please make a visit to any of these places for your wedding day/party needs…. they were all super nice & I’m happy to recommend them to anyone! Engagement | Kseniya & Brandon

I met Kseniya last fall at a blogger meet up. She seemed lively, fun & just my speed. We all exchanged contact info (blogs, twitters, emails) and promptly started to follow each other. It wasn’t long before I saw Brandon, her boyfriend had popped the big question to her. I silently crossed my fingers she’d be interested in hiring me. December rolled around & she asked for our wedding info…. I sent it over & held my breath. Several weeks passed, but we finally sat down together on a rainy Sunday afternoon & they booked! I was ecstatic! I knew they wanted engagement photos, but we didn’t speak too much about them. A few weeks later Kseniya’s maid of honor in New York contacted me…. she wanted to purchase an engagement session for them!!!! What an AWESOME MOH, and friend to have! Our first scheduled session threatened with rain and cold weather, so we rescheduled for a sunnier day. We met up to do the shoot at UNCC, where they met & Brandon proposed 🙂 We started the the botanical garden… so pretty & romantic! 🙂 I really love this shot Jeremy got…. Then it was wardrobe change time…. I normally expect one dressy & one casual outfit…. but when Brandon stayed with us (in his suit…. which by the way… is the suit he’ll be getting MARRIED in!) while Kseniya changed… I knew we weren’t in for a jeans and cute top for her 2nd outfit….. hello HOT gold cocktail dress! The light was SO pretty right outside the library…. I could have shot here all day! One of the goals for the session was to get a good “save the date” photo…. these two are my favorite 🙂 One of our final stops on campus was this bridge/lawn area. It’s where Brandon proposed. This spot is SO pretty, and the way the light pours over the hill is magical. I think I need to do a bridal portrait at this spot… imjustsayin’… I’ve decided I have an obsession with shooting through things….. K & B thanks so much for showing us all your special spots on campus, we’re so excited for your wedding in October!
