Styled Shoot | Uptown

We left the rustic barn, and headed for Uptown Charlotte with a different dress and cake to photograph! I was excited to shoot in Uptown, because despite living in this town almost 3 years, I’d never shot there!! We’d made plans to shoot in specific spots because it was supposed to be raining…. well, even though the rain had stopped & sun come out… we stuck with one of our original locations…. the railroad overpass on 6th Street near Gateway. I am so in love with this spot, and could shoot here over & over! Dress: Hayden Olivia Bridal, Priscilla of Boston’s Vineyard Collection Karalyn Cake: Sunflour Bakery Bouquet: Quicksand Roses from Harrisburg Florist Julia with Stella & Dot for the stunning jewelry Shoes: Guess from Marshalls Then we headed over to Tryon…… I remembered these beautiful church doors from our shoot with The Beautiful Mess…. and just had to use them…. I’m pretty sure their was an actual wedding going on there that day!

Wedding | Heather & Ryan Part II

Whew…. so, life has been a little crazy the last 12 days or so….. I’m a bad blogger, and have little time to breathe! Between shooting 2 weddings, 2 portraits and traveling for my day job, the editing & the blog has taken a back seat. Anywho…. I’m getting caught up 🙂 Here’s the rest of Heather & Ryan’s wedding day at the Palmer Building here in Charlotte. They gave everyone a bag of stone ground grits from Southern Fields! Heather’s grandmother showed up with this vintage Polaroid camera, and I had to take a photo of it! She used her last 2 photographs at the wedding. I love this sweet moment between the newlyweds & Heather’s parents An impromtu dance with grandpa…. Goodnight!

Wedding | Heather & Ryan

Two weeks ago I had one very rainy opportunity to shoot with Emily Renee out at the Palmer Building in Charlotte. We arrived really early, first ones there actually. So we spent the time walking around, picking good spots for photos, and shooting as much of the details as possible. Poor Heather & Ryan, they’d planned for a wedding on the patio, but settled for getting married indoors because of the rain. While Heather was getting primped I got to hang out with the guys….. Despite the chilly rain, Heather & Ryan decided to have their first look outside in front of the Palmer Building. Their had been plans to go off to a park & do portraits, but with the gloomy weather, it didn’t happen. However, this left us lots of time to do group shots! The front doors to the Palmer Building flooded the entry with beautiful, natural light. Thankfully, we had 2 very willing groomsmen to stand out in the rain with umbrellas and hold the doors open for us! Married! Stay tuned for Part 2!
