Children | Emma Rae’s First Birthday

Today was filled with balloons, cupcakes, pink dresses, pink icing, and one adorable ONE YEAR OLD EMMA RAE! Where has the time gone? She was just born, right? Wow…. one year. Her birthday was actually back in November, but we couldn’t get a time worked out for her to come see us until now….. and now that she’s full on walking, the only thing keeping her still….. is a pink cupcake 🙂

Christmas Recap….

We made it back home on Christmas night, in fear that we would be snowed in, in Durham. We had oodles to do before today, so we had to get back. One of yesterdays projects was photographing a few of my Christmas gifts 🙂 I got a glorious new Starbucks mug, which I promptly put to good use.A super cute tote bag…. in the best colors ever! (gray & orange!)A tall apothocary jar to match the short one I got for my birthday.A rusty colored scarf (which I’m wearing today!)The coolest little jewelry box from Pottery Barn (it’s mini & made for traveling, perfect for all my overnight adventures!)A sparkly new snowflake ornament. We got lots of other goodies too…. including corn on the cob dishes, VS gift card, new sheets, candy, tin jars, cheetah print bath robe & a preordered copy of the original Alice in Wonderland (it will arrive in February!)

Wedding | Anna & Chris

Anna is my fabulous hair dresser in Raleigh (yes, she’s so good I drive all the way to Raleigh for a trim!) She got engaged a while back and I always enjoyed chatting with her about her wedding plans when I went to see her this year…. Her & Chris set a date for October 2011. Well, Chris is in the military and found out he would be home over Thanksgiving, so a few weeks before they decided to go ahead and get married while he was home. I was so thrilled when Anna called me up & wanted to know if I was available on short notice…. I was. After Jeremy and I got married, I kinda wished we’d just had a simple ceremony in my dad’s yard…. exactly what Anna & Chris did. It was such a small, intimate affair, and I was so honored to be part of the day. Anna got her hair done at Douglas Carroll Salon in Raleigh by Brittany Quackenbush. a little later that afternoon we met back up at Anna’s parents home… Before we knew it, it was ceremony time! Anna & Chris with their dog, Sadie on the left, and all the guests on the right…. Some of the most amazing food ever! It was catered in by Jessie Scott. Chris bought Anna a new truck as a wedding gift…. it’s even white 🙂 Thank you again for having us be part of your day! It was so great to witness you two get married!!

Happy Holidays!

Jeremy & I are fortunate enough to only have to travel a whopping 2 hours up the road to Durham for Christmas. Both our entire families are there. We’ll be celebrating the holidays there & then heading back home for some R&R next week. Hope you and yours have a delightful holiday! (stay tuned for Chris & Anna’s wedding coming soon!)
