Personal | Holiday

Since today is my last day of 2013 at my day job, I thought it would be appropriate to share this year’s Christmas card. Since getting married, each year we have sent a “Happy Holidays” card…. and this year, well…. I couldn’t do it. I am a Christian and make no bones about it, and I refused to do the PC thing again this year….. I celebrate the birth of Jesus, and hope you do too, so Merry Christmas!! 🙂 Since 2013 was majorly about the new house, I felt it was only appropriate to theme our card this year around that. *Image by Kristen Huntley I’ve still got quite a bit to blog from this year (including some weddings!) so don’t think I’m done posting for the year…. I’ll be back soon with more eye candy. We’ve also got two sessions left to photograph this month, and we’ll be sharing those too. Need a last minute Christmas gift? A portrait session makes a great stocking-stuffer! Just contact me to purchase it, and the recipient can set up the time and date after they receive it!

Wedding | Liz & Kevin

This year I had the privilege to be in not one, but two weddings! My dear friend Liz married Kevin in August, on what many of us feared would be a hotter than hell day (and an all outdoor day!)…. luck would have it that the temps never made it much above 60 that day, and we found ourselves in sweaters avoiding the rain. I took along our Minolta 35mm and grabbed a few shots during the weekend, but mainly enjoyed being one of the girls. Venue: Belmont Estate in Reidsville, NC

This year I had the privilege of hosting the annual Cookie Party…. great company and yummy treats made for a successful night! I didn’t take too many photos, but any photos are better than the none that were taken in previous years! The theme was “Sequins & Sweets” hence all the sparkle. I picked up these black gable boxes cheap on eBay for everyone to take their cookies home in, and printed the tags here. Some of our decor…. couldn’t leave off Horton (the elephant) just because he wasn’t black & white, centered is the wingback chair that used to live in my office. After a DIY upholstery job gone bad, I decided to make a slipcover for the chair. I used this tutorial as a guide, it’s 99% done. I picked up the pillow at TJ Maxx this week. And finally, some of my holiday wrapping this year. Wrapping must match tree, which must match living room. It’s a sickness. I’m planning to take some better photos of all my wrapping, will share soon! And finally, a few of the puppies! PS: Got my Christmas cards done yesterday, can’t wait for them to arrive!
