Engagement | Liz & Kevin

I’m so glad I finally have friends getting married…. for so long I’ve been “the married one”…. Yay for more of my friends joining the club!   I love that they chose to have their photos done on their property…. a location special to them and Kevin’s entire family.

Beach House | Choices

Some of the more fun items we get to take part in while this building process continues are all the selections. Don’t be fooled, this has also proved to be the most stressful. The choices seen below were some of the easiest, thankfully! We got a huge box of carpet samples last week, and within about 30 seconds had our choice. I’ve never been so thankful for non-builder grade carpet to be in our budget! We also made our siding selections! Thankfully, it was another easy choice! ….. and it was NOT a “coastal color” Our house will be “Evening Blue” the closest color to navy I could get 🙂 There were so many options for carpet…. some less than desirable colors…. We wanted something very low pile, so we were able to knock out many choices fast. We liked these the best. Surprise, surprise…. the one we liked best? Sandy Beach.

Beach House | Update

Three weeks passed and we found ourselves getting stopped at every light in Union County on Hwy 74 (is it just me, or is that the WORST stretch of road in all of NC??)…. we were back en route to Carolina Beach. This time we were heading down to make sure all the outlets, lights, speakers, etc. were in the spots we wanted before the drywall covers it all up. We are nearing the finish line of this project and it feels so nice! Our builder let us know our siding and roof were on backorder… blah! Apparently there’s been a bit of a building “boom” and things are a little behind. Below is a view of the living room, the left is the view from the loft, and right is a view from the kitchen. Left is Jeremy at the window in the loft, and right is me by our kitchen window (where our counter will be… specifically where the big farmhouse sink will go!) The wall behind me is where the laundry, pantry & kennel are located. Left is Jeremy standing in the kitchen (about where our island will be), middle is looking at the master bath door from the master bedroom and right is the dining area. Left is standing in the living room looking back at the kitchen area, and steps down to the parking and up to the loft. Fingers crossed for no more suprises, and that things will go smooth for the next 6 weeks!

Wedding | Kristin & Jonathan

Kristin & Jonathan’s wedding day couldn’t have been more picture perfect. The weather was beautiful!! Their ceremony was at First Pentecostal Church in Durham and their reception was at Umstead Pines Golf Club. I was strangely excited to shoot at Umstead Pines because my sister had her reception there nearly 17 years ago, and I don’t think I’d been inside since then! To see more from their day, click here!
