Wow, what beautiful weather we’ve had this weekend! I should probably be put in jail for not driving the bug with the top down…. eek! Today Jeremy and I had lunch at one of our favorite places, Toast, in Huntersville. The location is closing at the end of this month and will be moving…. one of the things we love about that place is the atmosphere- the restaurant is in a small bungalow style house with a porch. We always love to go there on a warm day and have brunch on the porch or down in the yard. They are moving to a brand new building just down the block… but it just won’t be the same 🙁 …. Anyways…. then we headed for downtown Davidson. Today made me fall in love with our little town all over again. It’s so quaint, people are friendly, and we just couldn’t be happier being here. There are SO many wonderful spots to take photos around downtown, so we went exploring! We started out on the town green in front of the library. Then I got a little silly beside the Davidson Toast. On to some picnic tables in the ally….. We normally HATE this shade of blue (yucky Carolina blue!)…. but this side wall of Ben & Jerry’s might be my new favorite place to take photos 🙂 Finally, we headed over to the Post Office steps 🙂 Before we left- I spotted a darker spot near the Post Office- I thought…hmmm lets try some hair lighting! …. on Friday we took a few in our neighborhood again… here’s a couple

Lately, we’ve been taking every chance we get to go out and take photos…. today we practiced with a bare bulb flash and a piece of white foam board to balance out the bright sunlight. We actually didn’t do too bad! It was nice to practice something neither of us had ever done. Here’s a few from today…. we weren’t taking posing or facial expressions into account… just trying to get the light right 🙂 These are a little offbeat…. but I like how they turned out 🙂 This is way over exposed…. but I kinda love it that way The nice “glow” on the non sunny side of my face… yeah that’s from me holding the foam board out with my left hand and reflecting the bright sunlight …. haha….. ghetto, but it worked! …. again we weren’t practicing facial expressions….. 🙂 I’m sure our neighbors were wondering what we were up to… hehe!

This being our first married Valentines day, I made sure to document it! We celebrated a day early, and it was fabulous! Jeremy cooked veal marsala, and tiramisu (no pics of it though). He brought home lots of chocolate and sent me flowers at work on Thursday. I made lots of sweets and picked up some chocolate covered strawberries 🙂 …. I learned how to make a collage this morning! 🙂
