My new 50mm lens was patiently waiting for me when I arrived home from work yesterday!! I broke it out to play with immediately 🙂 After it got dark, we played around with the can lighting in our kitchen. I set up the camera for Jeremy to take a few of me and Gus.

Hello, November…. you make me nervous, because you mean the Holidays are right around the corner!! Get your Holiday Cards done E.A.R.L.Y. this year…. and what do you know, I’m offering Holiday Postcards! Front side- will have an image from your shoot of your choice… can’t decide on one? That’s OK! We can put 2 side by side! It can also have a message if you like! (the example below does!) Back side- this is completely up to you! Your message, your color, your design…. however you want them, we can probably do them 🙂 Christmas shoots are $150 and include 30 free photo postcards. Need more than 30? That’s OK! You can get as many more as you like for 50 cents each. Here’s a quick example of what it could look like…. don’t mind the non-holiday photo- it was red, and I thought it was pretty 🙂 Front…. Back…. (the blank spot on the right is where your addressee will go!)

We were so excited to stay home, relax, give out candy, and hang out with our neighbors on Saturday night. I really wish the new flash I ordered had arrived before this weekend, because all the shots I took of the trick-or-treaters came out dark and fuzzy 🙁 Oh well, I’ll have it for next year! We had tons of candy bags left over from our wedding, so I thought I could put them to use for Halloween! I lined them up on the porch railing, I really love the repetition of all the bags. Here’s the pumpkin I ordered for our wedding. It’s been sitting in our living room since then, but I had to break it out on the porch for all to see 🙂 I learned it is quite difficult to take a good picture of a glowing pumpkin…. grrrr! Gus needed to see what all the excitement was about outside! And finally, Sunday I made two separate trips to IKEA…. the first trip I wanted some of those cool storage boxes they sell- you know the orange and green ones? Yeah those, well, I bought some, and new sheets and a new duvet and, and, and…. yeah well, I got a little out of control. BUT, I always browse through the “As-Is” section by the checkout…. and there it was…. the perfect armchair for our office!!! I called Jeremy, and emailed him a picture of it. I was purchasing an armchair! Then I spent the next 5 minuets in the checkout line praying “Jesus, please let this chair fit in the Honda!! Pretty, pretty please!!!” Well, the lovely “as-is” guy informed me that if it didn’t fit I could return it. So I took my chances. Well, If you know anything about IKEA furniture, is that it is slip covered. You have to buy them separate. I was in NO mood to go hunt through God-only-knows how many square feet to find them. Of course then I got home, and was irritated my new chair had no cover. I went back to IKEA. All three of our animals have each adopted the chair as their own, while the other two weren’t looking. Wow, all that for this….. Here’s Lucy camped out in the new chair last night…. It’s not the best photo, but it was the only one where she was almost not fuzzy. Again, if I’d had that darn flash… this wouldn’t be an issue!
