I really love getting to shoot with other photographers… it allows me some creative freedom, and to work at new venues. Shooting with Michelle Lyerly for this wedding at Appalachian Ski Mountain was such a treat! Jenny & Warren got married on the top of one of the ski runs and had spectacular Blue Ridge Mountain views up there. I think all the guests enjoyed riding up for the ceremony and back down for the reception on the lift. Their beautiful, cost-effective day started early… I think I arrived by 9AM for their 11AM ceremony…. they served brunch for their guests, and everything wrapped up by 3! These adorable, handmade bridesmaids dresses complemented Jenny’s mom’s wedding gown beautifully! Before the ceremony Warren delivered a gift to Jenny, it was a new Bible with her new name!

The day before Alan & Ashley’s wedding, I met Ashley at 6:30AM on the pier they were to be married the following day…. yes AM. When Ashley & I were working out the specifics of us coming to Jamaica, she’d asked about a bridal session and I mentioned that sunrise would be ideal (even though we’d all be groggy!) because the beaches, piers, garden…. everything would be empty! If we waited until sunset, the place would be crawling with sunbathers and rum-punch drinkers. She understood… hence our early session!

Alan & Ashley were married on January 24, 2015 at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Photographing a wedding in paradise was an incredible opportunity, and we are so thankful to the Brenneman & Bennett families for having us there to capture this special occasion for them. To see all the images from Alan & Ashley’s Jamaica nuptials visit here! We got pretty lucky with our room… it just happened to look out over the particular pier that they were married on! Jeremy spent most of the ceremony on our balcony to get shots from above! No one tells you the Sandal’s Royal Caribbean is in the flight path of the Montego Bay airport…. this was plane #2 during the ceremony… the officiant would pause and everyone would laugh!
