Personal | Making It Official

Several months ago we asked for help…. here’s why….. Indications that we have been thinking about adoption have floated around. We are here to tell you… it’s official. We have elected to not pursue any further reproductive medical treatment at this time and are going to adopt. *My mother purchased this cradle when I was a little girl, I helped her stain it. The beautiful garland was made by Aubrey at Willow Floral Boutique After rounds of treatment, countless blood samples, self-administered shots and almost three years we hope to bring home a baby in 12-18 months from now. Because we purchased an new old home in July that needs quite a bit of work, we have chosen to complete the largest project (converting the garage into a master suite… the house is only 2 bed 1.5 bath currently) first, before bringing a baby home. Renovating a house with a newborn just seems like a horrible idea! While fertility treatments were not cheap, it doesn’t hold a candle to the financial responsibility of adopting. Costs are usually well over $30,000+ with the use of an agency/consultant. So, on this #GivingTuesday we would love your help. We invite you to visit our ADOPTION WEBSITE, check out all the different ways you can help us, and learn about our experiences over the last 3 years. Asking for help is NOT my strong suit, and I promise not to beat down your doors asking for it. In the height of my photography business (2011 & 2012) I booked over 10 weddings each of those years… help me make 2016 just as good! I’ve already got a few booked, so help me spread the word and get a few more! Booking just 10 weddings will help us achieve our goals…. but if you or someone you know isn’t tying the knot… their are other ways to help too! *Just for clarification, the money to complete the renovation is in place, and any funding we receive WILL go towards adoption, not our house projects.   Thank you so much for assisting us to complete our family! *Top 3 images by Catherine Marciniak, bottom by me

Maternity | Allison & Robert

Several weeks ago I traveled to Raleigh for Allison & Robert’s maternity session at Yates Mill. We managed to dodge the hoards of other families there for their annual photo-shoot and capture some special moments for them waiting for the arrival of their daughter next month, Georgia Claire! To view all images from their session, click here!

Family | Cassie & John

Cassie reached out to me a while back to photograph her and John at Fort Fisher to showcase their new little one arriving soon. While we don’t shoot tons of maternity sessions, they are some of my favorite! Nothing like being around a glowing mamma and a proud papa. Interested in having a session at Ft. Fisher? Just contact me! See even more from their session here! Cassie & John are photographers themselves, it’s always an honor to photograph industry peers!
